Families

Blessed with three white sandy beaches and a wealth of land and water activities, Shandrani is a natural playground for adults and children of all ages. While all rooms at Shandrani can accommodate a least a couple and one child, the resort also provides accommodation specially designed for families with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The resort offers a range of free sports and activities for both adults and children. The kids club dedicated to children aged 3 to 12 provides fun-packed activities that include treasure hunts, crab hunting, painting, drawing and dancing. Should parents want to enjoy a romantic dinner in one of the hotel’s four restaurants or some quiet time on their own, they can request a baby-sitter who will be happy to look after the little ones for a night or an entire day if needed.

Dining

Shandrani has four marvellous restaurants and two bars. You can choose to dine in Le Grand Port – the main restaurant offering International cuisine, The Ponte Vecchio – Italian, Le Sirius for International cuisine on the beachfront and Teak Elephant for Thai food. Afterwards, enjoy a cocktail and the live entertainment at the Blue Bay Bar. For a more quiet, romantic soiree, try Le Sirius Bar, with its intimate dance floor.

Accommodation

Room types vary from Superior (50 m2) to -Family Suites (206 m2 )offering capacities for couples right up to large families. All rooms offer the latest technology in a tranquil and relaxed ambience. The Superior Room has a bedroom and separate lounge area. The larger suites offer vast spaces and multiple rooms for everyone to have their own personal space.

The luxurious Spa design is inspired by the tropical beauty of Mauritius. A natural stone path lined with a thick bamboo hedge leads guests to the entrance, setting the tone for a unique pampering experience. The inner garden is planted with a variety of exotic flowers, shrubs and trees including palm trees, hibiscus and frangipani trees with fresh fragrances wafting on the breeze. Enclosed in the gardens, 20 Robinson Crusoe-style, thatched single and double massage cabins blend seamlessly with the environment.

Land Sports

To make the most of the natural surroundings, Beachcomber has created an exclusive eco-tourism programme called Beachcomber Sports & Nature (BSN). Kayaking, canyoning, boat excursions and bicycle rides are just some of the ways guests can discover the island. A range of outdoor activities is available to guests of all ages. Tennis lovers will be delighted to play a match on one of the six floodlit courts and amateur golfers will enjoy a round of golf on the 9-hole “pitch & putt” golf course located within the resort. It runs adjacent to the beach, offering breathtaking views over the ocean. The small size of the course makes it the perfect option to improve your short game but will offer a challenge to beginners or seasoned golfers.

To ensure you keep fit throughout your holiday, sport-lovers can use the Sports Centre to choose from aerobics, steps and cardio training, just to mention a few options. A relaxing trip to the sauna, located within the centre, is a great way to complete any workout.

Water Sports

Lapped by the clear waters of the unique Blue Bay Marine Park, Shandrani has a privileged location, ideal for a wide range of water sports. For guests looking to simply enjoy the beauty of one of the finest lagoons of the island, pedal boats, kayaks and hobie cats are available for a relaxing tour. During a glass-bottom boat trip or a snorkelling outing, guests will get a closer look at the colourful underwater world. A diving centre, affiliated to PADI, offers initiation and classes to beginners and regulars. All activities offered at the boathouse, sailing club and diving centre are supervised by experienced instructors.
